Here are pictures from Lee Bomar's hike to Tues, Nov. 13 to Mt. Wrightson. One of the highlight of the
hike was our encounter with a covey of Montezuma quail, which we were told by a retired park ranger,
are much rarer than our typical Gambel quail, and one of the birds that birdwatchers cherish viewing
when they find them. Dick Sauer and avid birdwatcher confirmed this at the picnic today and said he
had never seen one. We ran into them near the top of Wrightson and I was able to get a few good
photos of them on the way down. The hikers on this trek were Lee, Terry Lehman, Don Bender, Clay
Pruitt, Melissa Bomar and me.
